Max Dowman scored a 97th-minute goal to seal Arsenal's 2-0 victory against Everton Arsenal 's Max Dowman became the youngest player to ever score a Premier League goal as he helped the title-chasing Gunners defeat Everton 2-0 at Emirates Stadium on Saturday. The teenager was sent on by Mikel Arteta in the 74th minute with the game still goalless and repaid the trust of his manager with a game-changing display in north London. After Viktor Gyokeres opened the scoring in the 89th minute, Dowman sealed the victory in the 97th minute, breezing past two defenders and finishing into an empty goal with Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford stranded upfield. As well as helping his side open a 10-point lead over Manchester City at the top of the table, Dowman scripted history in only his third Premier League appearance as the league's youngest goalscorer at the age of 16 years and 73 days.
